When beginning the process towards procuring a new pathology system, there are so many questions and competing priorities. You have to do a service reconfiguration; you have to select and embed a LIMS system and undertake a transparent, fair – and often accelerated – procurement process. So what comes first?
Design and implementation work is underway on the deployment of WinPath Enterprise to the ten labs in the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Pathology Network. The hosted solution will support standardisation across the network that covers a patient population of 2.6 million and handles more than 50 million tests a year, ahead of the opening of a new laboratory in Leeds in 2023

In a launch webinar, experts explained how the new laboratory information system built for genomics labs can put them in charge of their IT, drive standardisation, and deliver reports that clinicians can use as they move into the exciting world of precision medicine. And Dr Fabienne Dufernez explained how these benefits are already being delivered in Poitiers University Hospital.
CliniSys has launched a new laboratory information management system for genomic laboratories in the UK. The company has brought GLIMS Genomics to the UK from Europe, where it is being successfully deployed at Poitiers University Hospital in France and will be introduced into seven additional laboratories in coming months.
ICE is used in all clinical areas within Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as well as several additional facilities and GP practices. ICE is integrated with a number of clinical systems in order to streamline the clinical workflow and make information readily available to caregivers in one central system.
