Growing the company, growing trees

Clinisys has set up an environmental, social and governance (ESG) group, and one of its first ideas was to plant a tree for every new employee. We thought it was such a lovely idea, we decided to plant a whole lot more…

Clinisys Group is committed to improving the lives of the communities in which our employees and customers live and work and to tackling the climate heating and sustainability crises that affect us all.

Our parent company, Roper Technologies, has established an environmental, social, and governance group and is developing policies and reporting programmes.

To help bring focus to this initiative, Roper recently appointed a new member to the executive team, Michael Peterson. As chief ESG officer and securities counsel and assistant general counsel, Michael and his team will develop and then deliver on our goals.

To further strengthen our commitment in this area, we have also created an ESG employee volunteer group, with representatives from the UK, Europe, USA and India. One of the first ideas to come out of this group was to donate a tree for every employee who joined the UK organization in 2021.

We had 72 new employees from 1 January to 30 November, but we felt this was such a good idea that we should go a step further and donate a tree for all the people we were employing as of 30 November.

The result is that we are donating 272 trees to establish a Clinisys corporate grove in the Scottish Highlands. We will grow the grove as we grow the company, by planting a new tree there for every new employee. We are also looking at replicating the initiative in Europe, USA and India.

To plant the trees, Clinisys partnered with Trees for Life, a registered charity that is rewilding the Scottish Highlands by enabling the restoration of the globally unique Caledonian Forest which once covered much of Scotland. A healthy mixture of native species will be planted within 12 months over two distinct planting seasons, running from March to May and September to October.
