Clinisys and University of Exeter establish educational partnership to advance digital laboratory learning
Collaboration brings real-world laboratory informatics into biomedical science teaching, helping students build practical experience with digital workflows, data integrity, and quality-focused laboratory practice.
TUCSON, AZ, September 22, 2026 — Clinisys, a global provider of laboratory informatics solutions, today announced a new collaborative partnership with the University of Exeter to integrate modern laboratory digital systems into academic teaching and help prepare the next generation of scientists for data-driven laboratory environments.
Through the partnership, a Clinisys Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) teaching environment will be introduced into the University’s Biomedical Science
As laboratories become more digital and connected, scientists need to understand not only laboratory theory, but also the systems, data flows, and workflows that support data integrity, traceability, and quality-focused laboratory operations. By embedding digital laboratory workflows directly into teaching, the collaboration helps connect academic learning with applied laboratory practice and introduces students to quality-focused principles aligned to ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory environments.

Mutual value of the partnership
Clinisys will provide the technology, expertise, and industry context to support an immersive learning experience, including a fully configured LIMS teaching environment and simulated laboratory workflows such as sample tracking, data capture, reporting, and audit-ready traceability. The collaboration also includes academic support through industry-led guest lectures covering LIMS, data quality, and applied laboratory workflows.
The University of Exeter will lead academic integration and delivery, embedding LIMS capabilities into teaching modules and aligning digital workflows with seminars, coursework, and assessments. Together, Clinisys and the University of Exeter aim to strengthen digitally enabled laboratory education and support the development of graduates with practical experience relevant to modern life sciences, research, healthcare, and public health environments.
The collaboration provides students with exposure to the same types of digital workflows increasingly used to support laboratory operations across healthcare, life sciences, and public health organizations.
