Introducing paperless bacteriology
CUSTOMER PROFILE
THE CHALLENGE
Replace paper-based bacteriology requests in the laboratory.
THE RESULT
Saves time, improves workflow and turnaround times.
The challenge
To change the habits of teams used to working on paper.
Our approach
Rethinking microbiology rendering with the change of SGL.
Right from the start of the project, Dr Claudinon challenged us to rethink microbiological reporting by integrating it fully and paperlessly into the new SGL.
Our approach was multi-faceted: to understand the laboratory’s initial workflows, to model them using appropriate parameters in the SGL and, where possible, to improve them. We also reviewed the workflow to optimize movement and communication between teams.
Numerous points were taken into consideration: harmonization and optimization of technical work, traceability of all stages, simplified view of all file and patient results, real-time monitoring on a single tool: SGL, …
However, the greatest achievement of the laboratory and its referents has been to gradually gain in autonomy, until they are able to reinvent their microbiology and bring it to life on their own.
Before, with the worksheets, the technician had to retrieve his pouch, put it in the right order, in the same order as his boxes, so that it fit well between the two. Sometimes the sheet was misplaced, and had to be reprinted.
